Het alledaagse wordt vreemd en dreigend, het dreigende wordt gewoon. Ik vertrek van een esthetisch gegeven dat in de uitwerking een zekere wrangheid of kitscherigheid krijgt, waardoor het enigszins uit evenwicht raakt, onzeker wordt en daardoor aandoenlijk. Of ik combineer het beeld met een onverwacht element dat er eigenlijk niet bij past en dus de rust en de esthetiek verstoor.
