He refrained from making a \u0026lsquo;pure\u0026rsquo; painting on canvas and opted instead for a combination of patterned textile and figurative painting, ensuring that the piece can be moved and shown elsewhere.\u003cem\u003e Nadezdhda\u0026nbsp;\u003c/em\u003eis a portrait of Zvezdochotov\u0026rsquo;s infant daughter.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026lsquo;We decided to call our daughter Nadezhda (which means \u0026ldquo;hope\u0026rdquo; in Russian), which was also my mother\u0026rsquo;s name. [\u0026hellip;] I went to my mother\u0026rsquo;s house, showed her [my daughter\u0026rsquo;s name in my] passport and said: \u0026ldquo;\u003cem\u003eMother, you are now my daughter.\u0026rdquo; \u003c/em\u003eIn response she smiled, but said nothing, and three days later she had a heart attack. (...) Ik ging naar huis, toonde mijn paspoort en zei: \u0026lsquo;Mama jij bent nu mijn dochter\u0026rsquo;. Als antwoord glimlachte zij en zei niets, en drie dagen later kreeg ze een hartaanval.
