INBOX is a place that both inspires and surprises, and grants us a glimpse into the universe of passionate thinkers and doers. With INBOX, M HKA creates a physical space in which the museum addresses often-reccuring questions. In between the various events, we show a selection of our collection work, paying particular attention to video art.\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eWithin \u003cstrong\u003eIlse D\u0026rsquo;Hollander\u003c/strong\u003e\u0026rsquo;s oeuvre (born in 1968 - died in 1997), both the works in gouache on paper and the work in oil on canvas form part of the essence of her work. Even though it is about painting in both cases, the generally smaller size and techniques used in the works on paper make for a different atmosphere and specific intensity: more intimate, defined and focused.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe act of painting leaves its mark. The artist\u0026rsquo;s brush strokes and finger swipes remain clearly visible in the paint, which make the work both tangible and personal. The gouaches create a tension between the apparent tranquillity of the soft lines and subtle use of colours, on the one hand, and the unrest in the jagged, irregular surface boundaries, on the other. Order and regularity go hand in hand with doubt and movement. In beide gevallen gaat het over schilderwerk. Toch geeft het - over het algemeen kleinere - formaat en de gebruikte techniek de werken op papier een ander karakter en een specifieke intensiteit: intiemer, afgebakend en geconcentreerd.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eDe handeling van het schilderen zelf laat zijn sporen na. De borstelstroken en vingervegen van de kunstenares blijven duidelijk zichtbaar in de verf en maken het werk tegelijkertijd tastbaar en persoonlijk. In de gouaches ontstaat een spanning tussen de schijnbare kalmte van de zachte lijnvoering en het genuanceerd kleurgebruik enerzijds en de onrust in de grillige, onregelmatige vlakbegrenzingen anderzijds. Orde en regelmaat gaan hand in hand met twijfel en beweging. Dans les gouaches, une tension appara\u0026icirc;t entre le calme apparent des lignes douces et l\u0026rsquo;utilisation de couleurs nuanc\u0026eacute;es d\u0026rsquo;une part et l\u0026rsquo;agitation dans les d\u0026eacute;limitations capricieuses et irr\u0026eacute;guli\u0026egrave;res d\u0026rsquo;autre part. L\u0026rsquo;ordre et la r\u0026eacute;gularit\u0026eacute; vont de pair avec le doute et le mouvement.
