He was asked to incorporate an exhibition of his own work into a presentation of the collection. The museum therefore selected the exhibits in question in consultation with him.\u003cbr\u003eThe M HKA manages collections of various origins: the Gordon Matta-Clark collection which at the time was the basis for the collection, the museum's own acquisitions, part of the collection acquired by the Flemish Community and the I.C.C. patrimony, including an important video archive. A distinctly international selection was made from this collection for the first new-style collection presentation. Works by Vito Acconci, Dennis Adams, Daniel Buren, Marlene Dumas, Jimmie Durham, Dan Graham, Craigie Horsfield, Donald Judd, Alan McCollum, Rodney Graham, Juan Muñoz, Bruce Nauman, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Thomas Ruff, Cindy Sherman, Minette Vari, Lawrence Weiner and others are presented. Het was dan ook in overleg met hem dat het museum de nu tentoongestelde stukken heeft geselecteerd.\u003cbr\u003eHet M HKA beheert collecties van verschillende herkomst: de collectie Gordon Matta-Clark die indertijd de basis vormde voor de verzameling, de eigen aankopen, een deel van de collectie verworven door de Vlaamse Gemeenschap en de nalatenschap van het I.C.C., met onder meer een belangrijk videoarchief. Uit deze verzameling werd voor de eerste collectiepresentatie nieuwe stijl een uitgesproken internationale keuze gemaakt. C'est donc de commun accord avec l'artiste que le musée a sélectionné les pièces exposées.\u003cbr\u003eLe M HKA gère des collections d'origines différentes: le fonds Gordon Matta-Clark, qui à l'époque formait la base de la collection, ensuite ses propres achats, une partie de la collection acquise par la Communauté flamande ainsi que de la succession de l'I.C.C. avec entre autres d'importantes archives vidéo.\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr\u003eEn puisant dans cet ensemble pour la première présentation 'nouveau style' de la collection un choix délibérément international a été fait.
