He lived in London from 1988\u0026ndash;89 and in New York from 1990\u0026ndash;98. Alongside fellow artist Angel Bados, he conducted, between 1994\u0026ndash;98, several courses in Arteleku, San Sebastian, that turned out very influential for several generations of Basque artists. He has written many articles for art magazines and texts for catalogues. In 1988 he was curator of the retrospective exhibition \u003cem\u003eOteiza. Prop\u0026oacute;sito Experimental\u003c/em\u003e (\u003cem\u003eOteiza.\u003c/em\u003e \u003cem\u003eExperimental Proposition\u003c/em\u003e), organized by La Caixa Foundation and held in Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona and, together with Margit Rowell, he curated the exhibition \u003cem\u003eOteiza. Myth and Modernism\u003c/em\u003e for the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (2004), and in New York (2005), and for the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid (2005). He is also the author of the \u003cem\u003eCatalogue Raisonn\u0026eacute; of Oteiza\u0026acute;s Sculpture\u003c/em\u003e. An artist in his own right, he has exhibited in numerous national and foreign galleries and institutions. The Museo de Arte Contempor\u0026aacute;neo de Barcelona (MACBA), the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao (2002), the Mus\u0026eacute;e d\u0026#39;Art Moderne. Saint Etienne-Metropole in France (2007) and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sof\u0026iacute;a (2016), have presented retrospectives of his work. In 2010 he conceived and carried out together with Jon Mikel Euba, Sergio Prego plus 15 volunteers, \u003cem\u003ePRIMER PROFORMA 2010, 30 exercises. 40 days. 8 hours a day,\u003c/em\u003e a project for MUSAC beyond conventional notions of exhibition and pedagogy.
