Niet lang na het be\u0026euml;indigen van zijn studies gaat hij echter op zoek naar andere expressiemogelijkheden. In het begin werkt hij idee\u0026euml;n en concepten nog uit met de basisbenodigdheden van een schilder of beeldhouwer, maar hij komt al snel terecht bij foto en video. Volgens Druks zijn dit expressiemogelijkheden waarmee de hedendaagse mens meer vertrouwd is. Toch blijft het visuele en plastische aspect van groot belang in zijn multimediale werken: Druks wil beeldend kunstenaar blijven, iemand wiens job het is beelden te cre\u0026euml;ren. Naast foto\u0026rsquo;s en video-opnames gebruikt Druks ook tekeningen, collages, teksten en geluidsopnames. Al die middelen wendt hij aan om \u0026eacute;\u0026eacute;n centraal thema naar voor te brengen: de problematiek van het individu in de maatschappij, een maatschappij die Druks ziet als een conditionerend systeem. \u003cem\u003e\u0026ldquo;Mijn materiaal bestaat voornamelijk uit documentatie van groeps- en individueel gedrag in en als reactie op de omgeving. Ik concentreer me op het conflict tussen het individu en de gemeenschap\u003c/em\u003e\u0026rdquo;.\u0026nbsp;Druks gebruikt steeds zijn eigen ervaringen als uitgangspunt, omdat hij er van uitgaat dat de problemen die zich voor hem stellen, ook voor anderen kunnen gelden. Hij heeft als het ware zijn beroep gemaakt van het vragen stellen rond zijn identiteit als individu binnen de gemeenschap. Ondanks het centrale thema in zijn oeuvre blijven de werken toch zeer verschillend, zoals de foto\u0026rsquo;s van acties bij een televisie-uitzending of de foto\u0026rsquo;s van de Greenwich-klok en van Engelse lengtematen.
