He illustrated works by the likes of Oscar Wilde and Antonin Artaud. From 1905 onwards he also regularly produced engravings for his own books, such as \u003cem\u003e\u0026Eacute;difices anciens\u003c/em\u003e (1908), \u003cem\u003eTwelve occupations\u003c/em\u003e (1916) and \u003cem\u003eJob le pauvre\u003c/em\u003e (1923). He also illustrated his novel \u003cem\u003eDolorine et les ombres\u003c/em\u003e himself. He worked in the \u0026#39;art nouveau\u0026#39; style, also known as \u0026#39;Jugendstil\u0026#39; or \u0026#39;modern style\u0026#39;. The latter term is probably the most appropriate, as De Bossch\u0026egrave;re\u0026#39;s style is most similar to the work of Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898). De Bossch\u0026egrave;re drew lots of waving, ornamental shapes and stylised plants, like Beardsley, and he made clever use of the black-and-white division of the page.
