Leo is known for creating art installations and situations for encounters. After completing an M.A. in Architecture at Princeton University, Leo taught Architecture at Cooper Union for seven years, during the time she earned a PhD in Philosophy by Autonoma University of Madrid. In 2007, Leo started Civic Gaps, a New York think tank dedicated to neglected spaces in the city. Leo is the founder and current director of the Fundación MOSIS, a not for profit dedicated to city and art focusing in new policies for both. Her videos and interactive installations have been shown in galleries and institutions for over two decades including MNCARS (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia) in Madrid and Invisible Exports Gallery in New York.
