Vanaf de jaren vijftig deed Vandenbranden afstand van het figuratieve en legde hij de focus op het geometrische abstractie - tot aan zijn overlijden in 2014. Tijdens deze periode sloot Vandenbranden zich aan bij de kunstenaarsgroep \u0026lsquo;Art Abstrait\u0026rsquo; en experimenteerde hij met kleur en reli\u0026euml;f. Zo ontstonden in de jaren zestig zijn eerste abstracte sculpturen.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eGuy Vandenbranden nam deel aan enkele tentoonstellingen georganiseerd door de kunstenaarsbeweging G58 in het Hessenhuis in Antwerpen.
