Thoughts, ideas and feelings, but identity too, language and text - all contribute to the realization of his art.                                                             \r\n\r\nIn 2008 he provided a remarkable contribution to the Berlin biennial. He made a site-specific installation, a colorful 'necklace' for the monumental roof-cornice of the Neue Nationalgalerie, comprising nearly sixty flags.  At first sight, an innocent looking bar-code, but behind which lurks a none too innocent history: each of these flags belongs to one of the many German student fraternities that swam through the wake of the 20th century. Hij maakte een site-specifieke installatie die het monumentale dak van de Neue Nationalgalerie van een kleurrijk halssnoer van bijna zestig vlaggen voorzag: een op het eerste zicht onschuldig ogende streepjescode waarachter een niet geheel onschuldige geschiedenis schuil ging: elk van deze vlaggen behoort toe aan één van de vele Duitse studentenverenigingen die het woelwater van de twintigste eeuw heeft doorzwommen.
