She is neither sculptor nor architect. Taking a specific space as her starting point, she adds forms and volumes to the existing architecture. For this, she sets out discretely: she submits herself to the given space, to the given architectural forms. Often she chooses for unexpected, unobvious places like a stairway, a ceiling or a window ledge. Her interventions bring the specific qualities of an environment to light. She sets out signposts, intended to let viewers define themselves against reality. In what way does our point of view determine our perception? How does the viewer relate vis-\u0026agrave;-vis a specific place? Originally she worked chiefly with industrial materials \u0026ndash; concrete, wood and glass \u0026ndash; and primary forms. Since 1990 her work increasingly displays a more immaterial character: light, sound and fog instead of rough building materials. Ze is noch beeldhouwer, noch architect. Vertrekkend vanuit een specifieke ruimte voegt ze vormen en volumes toe aan de bestaande architectuur. Hierbij gaat ze discreet te werk: ze onderwerpt zich aan de gegeven ruimte, aan de gegeven architecturale vormen. Vaak kiest ze voor onverwachte, niet evidente plaatsen zoals een trap, een zoldering of een vensterbank. Haar interventies brengen de specifieke kwaliteiten van een omgeving aan het licht. Ze zet bakens uit, bedoeld om de toeschouwer toe te laten zichzelf tegenover de werkelijkheid te defini\u0026euml;ren. Op welke manier bepaalt ons gezichtspunt onze waarneming? Hoe verhoudt de toeschouwer zich tegenover een specifieke plaats?
